So, I found myself at Denny's 3:30am Sunday morning with a car that would not start. My battery was dead at Denny's. There wasnt even enough juice to use the electric locks. I was in quite a dilema. Then I heard a heavly accented voice say
"Your battery is dead brother."
I turn to my window and I see a man whose race is cloaked in mystery. If I had to guess I would say he had a mixed Spanish/Greek heritage, but dont hold me to that. Its not important anyway. What is important is how this man's willingness to help restored my faith in my fellow man. I was reminded of the The Good Samaritan story in the bible. It wasnt the fact that he was there and helping. It was just how willing he was to help. He rallied others in the parking lot to come over an helped me. His pursuasive power over the people leaving Denny's was impressive. The followed his orders like the obediant drones of a benevolent king. I didn't even have to get out of my car. Within seconds my car was being pushed out of the parking spot and a fellow in a white Lincoln Towncar was boosting me off. When I tried to thank the man and see if he needed money or anything, he said
"We have to help each other. You know that."
This guy had me wondering all the way home if he could have been an angel. Could God have sent an angel to Earth to both help and inspire me? Or could the Holy Spirit have been working through this man? Either way, my life has been impacted by a complete stranger. All I can say is THANK GOD

The Good Samaritan is found in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 10 verses 25–37.
On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" "What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?" He answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" "You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live." But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" In reply Jesus said: (it starts here) "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn in Jericho and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.' "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?" The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." NIV
